Theme: Strong Women

In the second of our New Writing workshops, we visited the Devil’s Porridge in Eastriggs (27th March 2019). What a fantastic venue – warm, comfortable and spacious – everything you need to produce a great story!

The theme of the morning was ‘Strong Women’, with a mixture of writing games and exercises focused on drawing out memories of the most important women in our lives and turning these into fictional pieces. The theme was chosen to celebrate Women’s History Month.

New Writing Workshops are aimed at beginners and nervous adult writers. Through a series of games and straightforward writing prompts, participants are encouraged to try out a mixture of writing styles in a relaxed and supportive environment.
